Martin Sheridan before winning a gold medal in the discus throw. Sheridan took first place in the discus throw at the Olympic Games in 1904, 1906 and in both the freestyle and Greek style discus throw in 1908. He won a total of five gold medals, three silver medals and one bronze medal competing in five different events at three Olympic Games.
